Kashmiri architecture is famous for khatamband ceilings and pinjrakari lattice work in wood. GRC can reproduce those geometric lattice patterns for exteriors, where wood would weather. Mosques and shrines use GRC domes, minaret caps and arches; homes and hotels in Jammu often choose modern geometric jali.
Climate and finish
Kashmir winters bring snow and repeated freezing and thawing, which is hard on any porous material. For these sites we use a dense, polymer-modified mix with a sealer, avoid water traps in the design, and detail drips so water runs off rather than sitting in the jali.
