Quality control
How we check the quality of every GRC jali panel
GRC quality is decided by things you can’t see on delivery day: the fibre type, the mix, the curing. Here is exactly what we control at each stage, and how you can check a jali yourself.

Our QC stages
Six checkpoints from raw material to dispatch
Raw materials
Only alkali-resistant glass fibre, fresh OPC, washed fine silica sand and a measured polymer dose. Fibre datasheets are kept on file.
Mixing
Batches are weighed, not guessed. Water-cement ratio is kept consistent and slurry consistency is checked before casting.
Casting
Correct fibre content for spray or premix, compaction to remove air, and thickness checked as the panel is built up.
Curing
Panels stay covered overnight in the mould and are kept moist for about 7 days. Rushed curing is the most common cause of weak, crazed panels.
Final inspection
Each panel is checked for size, squareness, thickness, edges, surface finish and fixing points before it is packed.
Packing
Panels are packed on edge with spacers so corners and fine jali bars are not chipped in transit.
Check it yourself
Signs of a good GRC jali panel
- Even colour and a dense surface without many pinholes
- Crisp, straight edges and clean pattern openings
- Consistent thickness across the panel
- A solid, ringing sound when tapped, not a dull hollow one
- No visible fibres sticking out of the face
- Supplier can show the AR fibre datasheet
Warning signs
Signs of a poor one
- Fine map-like cracks (crazing) on the face: usually poor curing
- Thin or uneven bars that snap easily
- Powdery surface that rubs off on your hand
- Large air voids at edges
- Very low price with no information about the fibre

FAQ
Quality questions
Why does some GRC jali crack after a few years?
Usually because of non-AR glass fibre, too little fibre, rushed curing, or panels that are too thin or poorly fixed for their size. These are all avoidable with correct specification and production.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes. For larger orders we cast a sample panel in your chosen design and finish for approval.
Do you provide test reports?
We provide material datasheets for our GRC and AR glass fibre. Project-specific testing can be arranged for large or government projects.
