GFRC jali
GFRC jali for large façades and shafts
GFRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) jali is the same material as GRC jali. The name is more common with architects and in tender documents. We make it by spray-up for big, high-strength façade panels and by premix casting for smaller, intricate patterns.

Two ways to make it
Spray-up vs premix GFRC jali
How the fibre goes into the concrete changes the strength of the panel. We choose the method to suit the panel size and pattern.
Spray-up GFRC
Cement slurry and continuous glass fibre roving, chopped to about 32 mm at the gun, are sprayed together onto the mould in thin layers and roller-compacted. Fibre content is 4.5–5%.
- Highest strength: flexural strength (MOR) 20–30 MPa
- Best for large façade panels, shafts and high-rise screens
- Allows thinner, lighter panels for the same span
Premix GFRC
Shorter fibres (about 13 mm) are blended into the mix, which is poured into vibrated moulds. Fibre content is 2–3.5%.
- Flexural strength (MOR) 10–14 MPa
- Best for small, deep or intricate patterns and repeat units
- Sharp detail on both faces for double-sided jali

Typical GFRC properties
Typical values for well-made spray and premix GRC. Values for your project depend on mix design and are confirmed by testing.

| Limit of proportionality (LOP) | MPa | 7–11 | 5–8 |
| Compressive strength | MPa | 50–80 | 40–60 |
| Interlaminar shear | MPa | 3–5 | — |
| In-plane shear | MPa | 8–11 | 4–7 |
| Impact strength | kJ/m² | 10–25 | 10–15 |
| Elastic modulus | GPa | 10–20 | 10–20 |

For architects and contractors
What we need to quote a GFRC jali façade
- Elevation and section drawings (DWG or PDF) with jali zones marked
- Pattern reference: our catalogue number, an image, or your CAD pattern
- Floor heights, slab-edge details and the structure behind the jali
- Finish: natural white or grey, sandstone tone, or painted shade
- Site city and whether you need supply only or supply and installation
We return a panel layout, thickness and fixing proposal with the quote, so you can check it against your structural design.

FAQ
GFRC jali questions
What is the full form of GFRC?
Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete. It is also written GRC (glass reinforced concrete). Both terms mean the same material.
Why is AR glass fibre used?
Cement is strongly alkaline and slowly attacks ordinary glass. Alkali-resistant (AR) glass contains zirconia, which protects the fibre so the panel keeps its strength over time. All our GFRC uses AR fibre.
What is the price of GFRC jali?
GFRC jali starts at about ₹350 per sq ft supplied. Spray-up panels, custom moulds and installation are priced on your drawings.
What thickness is used for GFRC jali façades?
Usually 30–35 mm. Large or high panels may be 40 mm or mounted on a steel sub-frame.
Can GFRC jali be used on high-rise buildings?
Yes, with panel sizes, thickness and fixings designed for the wind load at that height. Spray-up GFRC and a steel sub-frame are typical for high-rise screens.
