GRC domes for temples, mosques, hotels and homes
A dome built in brick or RCC is heavy, slow and needs specialist shuttering. A GRC dome is cast in curved segments in the factory, then assembled on site over a light frame. It is a fraction of the weight and can carry fine detail, ribs and gold finishes.

How a GRC dome goes up
- We design the dome profile from your drawing and split it into segments that can be lifted and transported.
- Segments are cast in GRC, with ribs and details built into the mould.
- On site, segments are fixed to a steel or RCC ring and frame and joined with stainless-steel fixings.
- Joints are filled and the dome is finished in paint, gold leaf effect or natural GRC.
GRC dome questions
What size of dome can you make?
From small chhatris to large domes several metres across. Large domes are made in more segments over a structural frame.
Is a GRC dome waterproof?
GRC itself handles rain well. Joints are sealed and the outer surface is coated, so the finished dome sheds water like a solid shell.
Can a GRC dome have a gold finish?
Yes. Gold, copper and bronze effect paints are common for temple and mosque domes, and natural or white finishes for hotels and homes.
How is a GRC dome priced?
By diameter, profile and detail. Send the elevation or a reference photo with the diameter.
