GRC screens & fins

GRC screens that shade, ventilate and define a façade

A GRC screen is a second skin in front of glazing or open balconies. It blocks direct sun and glare, keeps rooms cooler, and still lets air and daylight through. We make perforated screens, vertical fins and sunbreakers in glass fibre reinforced concrete.

Screen types

Which GRC screen suits your building?

Perforated jali screens

A continuous patterned screen. Best on west and south faces of houses and hotels where privacy matters as much as shade.

Vertical fins

Repeating vertical blades. Good against low east and west sun. Fin depth and spacing set how much sun is blocked.

Sunbreakers and louvres

Horizontal or box-section shading over windows. Best on south faces where the sun is high.

Design notes

Getting the screen right

  • Open area: 30–50% open lets in useful daylight and breeze while still shading well. Tighter patterns give more privacy.
  • Gap from glass: leave room behind the screen for window cleaning and for hot air to rise and escape.
  • Module size: panels are split into liftable modules that line up with floor heights and window bays.
  • Fixing: screens on several floors usually hang from a steel sub-frame fixed to slab edges.
  • Finish: light colours reflect more heat; a sealer keeps them clean longer.

FAQ

GRC screen questions

Do GRC screens reduce heat inside the building?

Yes. A screen stops direct sunlight before it reaches the glass, which is where most heat gain comes from. Rooms behind a well-designed screen stay noticeably cooler and need less air-conditioning.

What is the price of GRC screens?

Perforated GRC screens start at about ₹350 per sq ft supplied. Fins and sunbreakers depend on depth and length. We quote on your drawing.

What is the difference between a GRC screen and GRC jali?

A jali is one kind of screen: a perforated, patterned panel. “Screen” also covers fins, louvres and sunbreakers.

Can GRC screens be fixed to an existing building?

Yes. Screens are often added during a façade upgrade, fixed to the slab edges with a steel sub-frame and anchors. We check the structure and fixing points first.
